The Botanical Garden
is one of the oldest famous tourist spots of its kind located in the heart of
Darjeeling. Established in 1878, the garden was named after William Lloyd who
provided the space for the garden. Spread over an area of about 40 acres, this
botanical garden is full of tall and beautiful bamboo and oak trees. In this
garden, the flowers of camellia, rhododendron, geranium, magnolia and
cotoneaster give a cover with different colors of nature with the arrival of
spring. Many types of rare orchids found in Singalila Ridge have also been
protected and preserved here. Apart from that, there is also an amazing
collection of over 150 cactus and succulent plant species. The rich variety of
flora preserved in this place makes it beautiful as a paradise for botanists
and nature lovers and Also, although it is located in the city, it is
considered as a special tourist spot of Darjeeling because of quiet, clean and
pleasant tourist spot.
