Nightingale Park is
a public park located about 3 km from Darjeeling city. Tourists and locals come
here to enjoy the panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga mountain ranges. This
green and beautiful park is considered as an ideal place to relax and enjoy.
This park was the private garden of Sir Thomas Tartan during the British rule.
As the Nightingale Park is located at a bit of a height, you have to climb some
steep roads to reach this beautiful park. There is also a large statue of Lord
Shiva as well as a musical fountain. A traditional cultural program is also
organized here every evening for the tourists.
