Established in 1968,
Darjeeling Ropeway is India's first cable car system. At that time it was
established to complete the transport facility in the tea plantations. Nowadays
it is used as a famous tourist hotspot. Each cable car carries 6 passengers
from Singamari to Singla Bazar while viewing numerous tea plantations of
Darjeeling, beautiful water falls as well as panoramic views of Kanchenjunga
Himalayas. Tourists get great opportunities to take some photos and videos
while traveling in cable car. Also at the lower end of the journey, the cable
car stops for a while at Singala, where tourists can explore the beautiful tea
plantations, or relax at a small mountain cafe before returning back to
Singamari.
