Singalila National
Park is a national park in India located about 36 km from the main city of
Darjeeling. The park was declared a National Park of India in 1992. This area
has been used as a trekking route from Manebhanjang to Sandakphu and Phalut.
This park is spread over an area of 80 square km at an altitude of 2000 to 4000
meters above sea level. This park is a very famous place for forest trackers.
This park is covered with vegetation like bamboo, oak, memolia rhododendron
etc. There are two seasons when wildflowers bloom here. The Orchidarium of the
Botanical Garden in Darjeeling has over 2,500 orchids of 50 rare species. Most
of them are brought here from Singalila National Park.
