Bokar Monastery is
one of the main tourist attractions in Mirik. This monastery is a Buddhist
religious site, and it was founded by Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche in 1984. More than
500 monks live in this monastery and they practice Buddhism. It is located on
the highest point of Mirik town and has a very beautiful view of Mirik Lake.
